Fall is Here

Well, this past weekend was Halloween, so there’s no doubt that we’re knee deep in fall.  This is a first for my family.  My kids have grown up in Arizona, that they haven’t ever had the opportunity to experience the leaves changing color or falling.  My 9 year old asked me today if the leaves falling off the trees hurt the trees, I told her no, it’s just like when you shed your hair, or skin cells.  That seemed to make her happy.  She’s really looking forward to raking up the leaves and getting to jump into her first leaf pile.  But the falling leaves, and the pumpkin everything that you see in the stores are just some of the reminders that two of the biggest holidays of the year are right around the corner; Thanksgiving and Christmas.  This means that time is running out for those of us who like to handcraft our presents and decorations.  As I sit here in my office, there are 7 weeks and 2 days until Christmas.  Still time to start a large project or two and get it done in time for the holidays, but not much else.  I’m still unpacking my office and getting settled in.  Trying to find homes for all of my tools and stuff from the move from Arizona to New Mexico, and praying I remember where I put things so that I can find them again when I need them.  For all of you out there that love fall weather; the crisp air and vibrant colors, I’m with you.  For the first time in 15 years, I’m going to have 4 seasons, and I can’t wait.
